Hero (The Spiderman Theme)

by

Chad Kroeger

When I heard this song there was something in it that reminded me of Layla by Eric Clapton

In Layla this happens ( ok it will be chord progression of the month #7)

4/4|| C / D / | E / / / || (somewhere in the verse)

The key is C# Natural Minor (E Major)

C & D are from E Natural Minor (G Major)

In this instance they are used to resolve to E

in HERO a similar idea is used here to get to an E

6/8|| G // G // | A // A // | E // E // | E // E // ||

the chords G & A are from E Dorian Minor(D)

and here to get to a B

6/8|| G // G // | A // A // | B // B // | B // B // ||

the chords G & A are from B Natural Minor(D)

HERO is written in G# Natural Minor(B Major)

with some minor key resolutions based on the chords they are aiming for.

try some in your progressions, they don't have to be major chords for the modulations or the target chord
